Writes Robert Packard:
I regret to inform you that one fine young man who has written for your website was tragically killed in a car accident. Andrew Young, a third-year law student at the University of Louisville, was involved in a two-car accident Thursday night while returning from a job interview. He was pronounced dead at the scene. I’m sorry I don’t have more details for you; this is all I’ve heard.
Andrew was a great guy, and one of the main reasons I started reading LRC. I met him in law school, and he referred me to some articles he had written. Andrew was very well-liked by everyone who knew him, a very good student, and a fine exponent of liberty. Just a terrific guy all around.
UPDATE from Sean Busick:
I was just about to email you about the passing of Andrew Young, when I noticed that you had already been notified.
He was a wonderful young man and a first-class scholar—the most promising student I ever taught.
I remember introducing him to your site several years ago. He was preparing to argue against our invasion of Iraq in a campus debate and came to me seeking reading suggestions. I loaned him my copy of “The Costs of War” and told him about your site. He won the debate handily.
The Best of Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr.
