One of His Prisoners Damns the Procurator

Mark Higdon, who describes himself as a “Prisoner of the State of Ohio, deserted by the Catholic bishops and pastors,” tells me he signed the petition to which I linked in “Two Ways to Resist.” But he

added the following statement after the boilerplate of the petition… :

Finally this, Procurator DeWine: You have sworn an oath to uphold both the Ohio and US constitutions, and have violated that oath repeatedly with your unlegislated “executive” orders. That makes you not only a dictator, but also a perjurer. Perjury is a crime. Why are you even walking around free? You should be arrested, tried, convicted and imprisoned. And not at home, like the rest of us right now. No amount of hand washing will acquit you of the crimes you are committing in office.

I particularly like that last, playing as it does off Mark’s clever title for DeWhacked.

Mark also forwarded the Procurator’s reply, with the warning, “You just gotta see this. Its orwellianness is breath-taking.” So is its poor writing. Gracious! Is there something about politics that attracts the totally inarticulate and illiterate?

Thank you for your email. When COVID-19 arrived in February, Governor DeWine sought out experts from across the world to help find ways to protect Ohioans from the threat of a virus infecting fellow Ohioans, destroying our economy, and collapsing our healthcare system.  Because of this effort, and the sacrifices made by Ohioans to stay home, Ohio is in a better position to respond to COVID-19 as the infection spreads in our state. As Ohio moves forward in its response, Governor DeWine is again seeking out experts – job creators, innovators, and large employers, to put us on a path forward.

 Thanks,

 Jason Hill

Director, Constituent Affairs

Office of Governor Mike DeWine

Mark notes, “I did not bother to respond. Jason Hill is obviously an AI artifact. Well, A, anyway.”

Yep, in both meanings of “A.”
