Writes Mark Higdon:

Why Not Abolish All Foreign Aid?, the estimable Jacob Hornberger proposed on LRC May 7. Ah, did that ever take me back! To the mid-1960s, when I was on my high school’s debate team. When the topic—Proposed: that the US government discontinue all foreign aidcame up for grabs, I seized the affirmative with the speed of John Wesley Hardin’s draw. Spoiler alert: It didn’t work then (nor will it work now). But at least I had about the most teen-age fun possible with my clothes on.
