Running Back John Riggins: Bring the Washington Redskins Name Back

George Floyd, Black Lives Matters protests, and the removal/replacement of monuments and symbols deemed racist by the politically correct resulted in changing the Washington football team known as the Redskins to the Washington Commanders. FedEx called for the Redskins to change their name and bought the naming rights to the team’s stadium in 1999 paying $205 million for a 27 year deal. 

Running back Hall of Famer John Riggins, and many Redskins fans who remember the team’s glory Super Bowl wins in the ’80s and ’90s, want to change the name back to Redskins. Riggins says a discussion is needed with the possibility of an arrangement with and buy-in from Native American corporations and groups. Riggins appeared at the Commanders game Sunday for the first time in a long while, speaking at halftime, and recently resumed his internet show after nearly a year. The topic starts at 15:44:
