The Great Ron Paul Tea Party of 2007

December 19, 2017

Writes L. Goldman:

Lew, thanks for blogging about that magical event…it brought back a flood of memories.

Many hundreds of us were packed to the rafters in the old Western Seafood warehouse on the shore of the Brazos river. I spoke with many folks who traveled long distances in Texas and Louisiana to be part of it. The huge crowd was electrified, cheering as $6.4 million came in. Ron was at the top of his game speaking extemporaneously (of course). Following that, we cheered when he climbed aboard a supporter’s boat to heave large barrels  marked ‘tea’ into the river.

I sometimes lament that we can never recapture the hope and excitement we experienced on that day.  Alas, I hope I am wrong.
