Young Person Saved from Academia!

Great news from a friend in Hawaii, Joe Kent. A few years ago, 20-something Joe began listening to the archived Mises University lectures while riding his bike to and from work. He is a talented musician (particularly ukulele and guitar), but his job as public school music teacher was unsatisfying. So he began to think about (wait for it) “going back to school…” to get a PhD.

That’s when the infamous Gary North vs. Walter Block debate from Mises U made its way onto his iPod. As Joe puts it, “listening to that debate completely changed my mind about EVER becoming a PhD.”

If you know a young person thinking about spending their fun and productive twenties becoming an academic– along with the debt it usually entails– make sure they see this debate!
