Yesterday, I invited folks to join me in praying for the Lord to destroy politicians and bureaucrats. Jim McCullen offered a friendly amendment:
I don’t think I will join in your prayer as you stated it because of 1 Samuel 8:18: “… and when you cry out for redress against the king you have chosen for yourselves, the Lord will not listen to you; you asked for a king.”
Rather, I will pray that the people discover their God-granted freedom and reason to dispose of the various kings that they have allowed.
Good thing the Almighty specializes in miracles: it will take a great many of them for totalitarian-loving, dumbed-down Amerikans to prize freedom and reason even if they do discover them.
