The Unending Media Lies About Donald Trump

The current one is that Trump, who weighed in on the allegations about Al Franken, has been “silent” about Roy Moore. I.e., Trump is a flagrant hypocrite. NBC this morning is so hysterical in making this fake point that it blares the same story twice in a row:

Some of the rest:

Trump’s silence on Roy Moore speaks volumes (3 days ago, NBC)

Trump’s silence on Roy Moore is deafening (2 days ago, WaPo)

Trump blasts Franken, but stays silent on Moore (2 days ago, CNN)

CNN now has a clock tracking Trump’s silence on Roy Moore (1 day ago, AL.com)

Trump attacks Al Franken on Twitter but is silent on Roy Moore (2 days ago, CBS)

Yet back on November 10, this is what Trump said about Moore as noted by ABC:

“Like most Americans, the president believes we cannot allow a mere allegation, in this case one from many years ago, to destroy a person’s life,” press secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters on Air Force One en route to Da Nang, Vietnam. “However, the president also believes that if these allegations are true, Judge Moore will do the right thing and step aside.”

Now, some of the stories linked above acknowledge the above statement but that by “silence” they mean that Trump has said nothing further about Moore, especially on Twitter.  Very misleading and another great example of how the media lie with headlines.  The public scans the headlines, doesn’t keep track of what was or wasn’t said, doesn’t read the qualifications in the accompanying articles, and gets the message that Trump is a flaming hypocrite.

Meanwhile, the real hypocrisy being smokescreened is Hillary Clinton’s stance that Moore is a pig who shouldn’t be allowed into the Senate (even if he wins the election), but Franken should be allowed to stay because “he admitted” to wrongdoing.   Never mind that Franken had no choice: there’s photographic evidence.

I am not a Trump supporter, but rather noting the absurd and dishonest campaigns waged against outsiders (take note Bernie supporters) and thus the futility of political solutions to problems.
