U.S. Troops to Get a Pay Raise

Obama wants to give U.S. troops a 1.6 percent pay raise. House Republicans want to give the troops a 2.1 percent pay raise. Obama excuses his “insult” to those who “defend our freedoms” by saying that “we must maintain efforts to keep our nation on a sustainable fiscal course.” I agree. So why not bring all the troops home, let every country pay for its own defense, and cut the number of U.S. troops?
