It’s “Military Night” in San Diego

Tonight, during the San Francisco 49ers/San Diego Chargers football game.  Should be quite the fascist spectacle.  Rumor has it that a Muslim will be sacrificed on the 50 yard line at halftime by the first transgendered Marine Corps officer.  (The NFL apparently believes the transgendered are an audience it has ignored).

Colin Kaepernick intends to sit out the state’s war anthem, as he has been doing all pre-season.  What’s wrong with this guy?  Doesn’t he know that we’d all be speaking Korean/Vietnamese/Iraqi/Afghanistani/Lybian/Syrian/Grenadian/Somalian/Panamanian/etc., etc. if it were not for all the military interventions by Our Heroes over the past 66 years?  Doesn’t he understand that if we had not started bombing Iraq in 1991, right up to the present day, he would not have the freedom to play professional football?  He should be celebrating our quarter-of-a-century of bombing of a Third World country rather than protesting it.
