U.S. Military Hostile to Christians?
April 16, 2015
Many people have sent me a link to this Washington Post story about the U.S. military being hostile to Christians. “Christians are leaving the U.S. military or are discouraged from joining in the first place because of a ‘hostile work environment’ that doesn’t let them express their beliefs openly, religious freedom advocates say.” Good. But too bad Christians are not discouraged from joining or are leaving the military because the U.S. military is a force for evil in the world.
Laurence M. Vance [send him mail] writes from central Florida. He is the author of The Free Society; War, Christianity, and the State: Essays on the Follies of Christian Militarism; War, Empire, and the Military: Essays on the Follies of War and U.S. Foreign Policy; King James, His Bible, and Its Translators, and many other books. His newest book is The U.S. Proxy War in Ukraine.
