Kids and E-Cigarettes

According to the New York Times, new federal data shows that the use of e-cigarettes among middle- and high school students tripled from 2013 to 2014. The share of teens who use e-cigarettes is 13 percent, which is more than the share of teens who smoke traditional cigarettes.

Why are none of the conservative and “libertarian-leaning” Republicans denouncing the federal government collecting data like this? It is clearly unconstitutional for the federal government to have anything to do with the smoking habits of teens. Whatever happened to parents? If a kid smokes e-cigarettes, tobacco cigarettes, cigars, or joints–it is the business of his parents to make it their business. It is none of any government’s business, no matter how much of a problem or a crisis it is.

I wonder how many millions of dollars of taxpayer money was spent on this?
