Two Rebels in a Row!
August 19, 2020
First up is “a pro-life doctor” who warns that
masks should not serve as “handcuffs” that prevent public worship of God or advocacy for the unborn.
Dr. William Lile, a practicing obstetrician and gynecologist in Florida, recently released a video comparing wearing face masks to wearing “handcuffs,” explaining that the COVID-19 pandemic has been hijacked by elites who are wielding it as a “political tool” for control and manipulation. …
Rejoice at our brother’s explicit witness:
“If [wearing a mask] is acting like handcuffs and preventing you from going to church and worshiping, then you have a problem.”
“If this is acting like handcuffs and preventing you from doing your God-given duty of sharing the Gospel, the good news,” he warned, “then you have a problem.”
“If this is acting like handcuffs and is preventing you from doing your God-given duty of defending God’s preborn that were created in the image of God at that moment of conception, then you have a problem.”
“Don’t let this paper set of handcuffs turn into real handcuffs made of steel because, if we don’t exercise our rights and break this flimsy paper handcuff, then 80 days from now, the results of the election could have us seen in real handcuffs.”
“We are already seeing pastors being arrested for holding services,” he continued. “We are already seeing people peacefully demonstrating in front of abortion clinics defending God’s preborn being arrested.”
“Don’t let this prevent you from doing your God-given duty and performing the mission that He has called us to because in 80 days, the future of this country could dramatically change.”
“I’m going to be here to fight,” Lile said. “I want you to join me to rise up to engage in this battle because demonic forces are raining down on this nation just like raindrops did on Noah’s ark when God closed the door to the ark. So do your duty.”
And after such sparkling oratory, he concludes with this zinger:
…“If Jesus comes this Sunday, I would not want to be caught in my bed watching church on Zoom.”
Please God, He’ll raise up an army of Christians as dedicated to His honor and sovereignty as Dr. Lile!
Our second example of shining courage comes from Pastor Rob McCoy of Godspeak Calvary Chapel in California. We’ve admired this remarkable shepherd before; now he denounces
the “draconian” measures imposed by the state [as] … “an overreach” and … has no intention of closing his church.
“If your doors are closed because you have a fear of man instead of a reverential fear of God, then you have to measure that and take a look at it,” he said.
“The supervisors and the counselors and all the folks that run government, they’re actors performing a script,” McCoy continued. “If we’re not going to push back, they’ll take everything we surrender to them. And we really have to stand because I know how government works. Most pastors don’t. I do.”
Recall that
McCoy had been serving on the Thousand Oaks City Council until April when he resigned over religious objections he had with the state’s coronavirus orders. “I cannot submit to the authority that declares the church to be nonessential” he said in a sermon at the time.
How insufferable that Parson Goat didn’t follow suit! Instead, he worked overtime at earning himself eternal shame. And still does as he unites with oppressive government to require masks, anti-social distancing, and other monstrosities in “re-opened” churches.
Will the Goats now heed Pastor McCoy’s warning of the rapacious State? Or will they continue to insist on their misinterpretation of Romans 13?
Meanwhile,
Godspeak has seen a massive uptick in attendance. Typically, the church hosts 400 people on Sundays. At recent Sunday services, there have been over two thousand attendees. “The church has exploded in growth…we were in overflow…people just want to come to church,” McCoy said.
Other churches are stepping up to coordinate efforts as well, even as local politicians threaten to cut their electricity. Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, Grace Community Church, Cornerstone Church of Fresno, Destiny Christian Church of Rocklin, and Harvest Rock Church of Pasadena have all defied the governor’s orders. …
You go, guys!
“It is a big joke,” McCoy said of the state-mandated restrictions. “We know the data. Open up California now…open our businesses, open our schools. Let’s move on with this.”
May our Lord grant Parson Goat the humility and repentance he so desperately needs if he’s to serve either God or man in these diabolical times.
