The Cops Have always Been Militaristic

January 11, 2015

Writes Nathanial Eliason:

It is popular these days to worry that the American police are becoming militarized. The note in this article, about ordering the cops to harass and fine the people even more, mentions the Commanding Officer, the Executive Officer, and platoons. Besides that they have Sergeants, Lieutenants, and Captains. The terminology is entirely military. I would say the police were designed to be like the military and they are only more perfectly conforming to their nature.
