Romney now says he wants to keep parts of Obamacare. He wants to replace it with his own plan “while keeping some popular provisions including coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.” This should come as no surprise since Republicans have always believed in government intervention into medicine. Here is Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor expressing support for two of the worst provisions of Obamacare.
We too don’t want to accept any insurance company’s denial of someone and coverage for that person because he or she might have a pre-existing condition. Likewise we want to make sure that someone of your age has the ability to access affordable care if it’s under your parent’s plan or elsewhere.
Ignore Republican criticisms of Obamacare. They believe in using the power of the state to compel Americans to pay for other Americans’ health care (Medicare, SCHIP, Medicaid) just like the Democrats.
