Until Nancy Pelosi backs up her accusations with proof, they amount to nothing. She claims “[T]he evidence is clear that the president has used his office for his own personal gain, and in doing so, undermined the national security of the United States by withholding military assistance to the Ukraine, to the benefit of the Russians, that he has undermined the integrity of our elections by what he has done, again, the Russian interference being ignored by him. And third, he has violated his oath of office.”
Prove it, Madame Speaker. Back it up, or else shut up. Provide an order, a document, a memo, a recording, something definite, that shows us what he gained and shows us that the alleged gain was personal, not accompanying his duties. Give us some evidence that would be admissible in a court of law, evidence that’s substantiated.
Provide evidence that Trump undermined the national security. How do you show this? You are obligated to explain how national security fell from a higher level to a lower level. Let’s see you do it.
Explain how “the Russians” benefited from what Trump did. Can you document this? Is there some measure of Russian government well-being or power or influence or territorial control that supports your statement that they benefited and that this benefit was caused by U.S. military assistance to Ukraine. Release your study of this matter. Your bald accusation is nowhere near enough. Without evidence, such accusations are meaningless.
Back up your claim that Trump has undermined the integrity of our elections. Where is the evidence of that? Do you have some secret measure of election integrity that we do not have?
If, as you claim, the evidence is clear of these things, why haven’t you made public what this evidence is? Why aren’t you documenting the truth of your accusations? Where’s the proof of Trump’s nefarious intent to gain personally, of our loss in national security, of Russian gain, and of the downfall of election integrity?
Ms. Pelosi, you have made the same claims before. Months have gone by, and you still provide no proof and no evidence. What you claim is so clear is not clear, not clear at all.
