Enter “Dear Vaccine…a Global Community Poem.” Nope, I’m not kidding. I’ve heard of collaboration, but this is beyond asinine.
And it gets worse. Said monstrosity
invit[es] all to share their voices to promote COVID-19 vaccination through the imaginative language of poetry.
“Imaginative language.” Read: language twisted to cover Marxism’s crimes. And even if the words are a good-faith effort to provoke new thought, it takes more than that to comprise poetry. What about rhythm and meter? What about rhyming?
Ah, but the experts at the public universities sponsoring this imbecility have already addressed such concerns:
Read the model poem “Dear Vaccine” …, then choose a prompt to respond to. Add a few lines of your words. Don’t worry about rhyming, don’t worry about grammar or spelling. Simply share your thoughts.
This isn’t anything even close to poetry (though you can understand the appeal of such nonsense to morons: how comforting—and democratic—to think that our random thoughts are “poetic”!). But what else would we expect from totalitarians?
