Perhaps neither you or I read comics any more but notice the insidious thing that is happening. Marvel’s Captain America is a long-standing iconic character in comics going back to WWII. He staged a dramatic restoration in the 1960s that has endured until today, in comics and feature films. His principal enemy was the Red Skull, an openly evil Nazi adversary. Today’s Red Skull is being transformed into Jordan Peterson, in his appearance and ideas, by Ta-Nehisi Coates, one of the most hate filled racists and proponents of critical race theory. Back in the 1950s there was a national campaign against comic books and their alleged subversive content, but comics survived these attacks and attempts at vilification. Although today the future of comics is problematic because of several disparate factors discussed in the above video, comics, whether in film format or in print, are still aimed at a specific impressionable audience and are again being targeted.
