Parson Goat Surveys the Flock

A friend who requested me to shield his identity and that of the “large” church he attends in the People’s Democratic Dystopia of New York received a “Congregational Survey” on whether and how services should resume.

That’s more than the “leadership” offered when it summarily slammed the doors in March. Nor have they re-opened since. The church’s website specifically credits such heresy to “complying” with Comrades Cuomo and DeBlabbio—um, DeBlasio on a page lacking any Biblical references or calls for defiance.

Following a few demographic questions (how often the respondent attends services, his age, etc.), the survey asks,

If precautions following government guidelines and other possible conditions are in place (e.g., social distancing, face masks, no singing, preregistration, limited bathroom use, etc.), which statement best reflects your attitude toward returning to in-person worship at —–?

I plan to return the [sic] first opportunity and don’t have a great deal of concern.

Hmmm… Concern about COVIDCon or the church’s utter faithlessness?

I plan to return the first opportunity, but with significant concerns.

Ditto.

I plan to wait several additional weeks before I attend.

Just as Christ did before enduring the Cross. “Father,” He prayed, “please, let Me wait several additional weeks because, You know, I could lose My life out there.”

It may be quite a while before I return.

“On second thought, Father, make it quite a while.”

I will be reluctant to return until most social distancing concerns are no longer necessary.

What trust these idolaters deny the Lord, they invest in the State. Imagine, especially in the corrupt and stinking sewer that is New York City’s political milieu, that you actually believe anti-social distancing is “necessary”—and, even more fantastically, that Our Rulers will renounce this control of us at some point.

The survey repeats a variant of these infidelities “For Children’s Ministry families”:

If precautions following government guidelines are in place, when will you feel safe dropping your children off in their children’s ministry classes?

And again with the multiple choice.

Isn’t the obsession with “following government guidelines” astounding? And that when said government is blatantly, egregiously tyrannical and just as blatantly, egregiously violating the Constitution. Would that these apostates were half as concerned with following God’s “guidelines” (“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…,” “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord,” etc.). Picture Christians so devoid of confidence in the Savior that they won’t gather for worship until they “feel safe.” Not a martyr or even the potential for one among ’em, is there? Meanwhile, wanna bet that when—if—services resume, these Goats will not rest content with having destroyed American liberty but will also desecrate Christian freedom by mandating masks and forbidding fellowship?

Their Satanic survey ends with a space for “Other comments.” Were I a member there, that’s the only question I’d answer: “I will never return, and the pagan attitudes reflected herein are why.”
