Obama’s Threat to Veto the Keystone XL Project

“The White House said Tuesday that President Obama would veto the Keystone XL pipeline project, one of the top priorities of the brand new Republican Congress.” Why is the federal government even involved in this project? It is entirely a matter for the states and property owners in the states. Republicans should instead be seeking to repeal the laws that mandate federal involvement. I am not holding my breath.
