More Questions that Only Libertarians Ask

The Thai government is condemned in a new U.S. State Department report on Trafficking in Persons. This was after the “Thai embassy in Washington signed a $400,000-plus deal with leading US law firm Holland & Knight” for “lobbying to persuade the White House, Congress and US departments of state and defence that Thailand is a country that fights human trafficking and forced labour.”

You know the question: Why is the U.S. State Dept. issuing these reports in the first place? Let private organizations issue them if they are going to be issued. It is not the purpose of the U.S. government to issue reports on human trafficking around the world. (And yes, I think human trafficking is evil.)
