Light Bulb Subversion

Writes James Dunlap:

I recently replaced a ceiling light fixture. It has fittings for two 60 watt bulbs. 120 watts, right? I have also embraced the three-way bulb: 50, click, 100, click, 150 watts! Vintage Mid-Century Modern fixtures abound at places like Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity thrift stores. I saw one ceiling fixture with fittings for four 60 watt bulbs. Viva Edison!

Go, James, and thanks for the reminder that subversive light bulbs were popular on Amazon in 2011. It’s not too late to stock up on cheap, safe, warm incandescents for your own use, and for gifts and even possible barter. Here are the popular ones:

Sylvania 60-Watt Incandescent — 24 pack;

GE Reveal 50/100/150 Watt Incandescent — 2 pack;

Sylvania 100 Watt Incandescent — 24 pack;

GE 100 Watt Incandescent — Case of 48.

Forget the mercuries, please yourself, and bug the Greens and the politicians, with Subversive Light Bulbs.
