Libertarians and Abortion

Although I did write an article back in 2012 with that title, I mention this subject again because just the mention of the word “abortion” drives some libertarians crazy. In my recent article on immigration, I mentioned abortion in the introduction. The article had nothing to do with abortion, just as the notes to me from a few libertarians who became incensed when they read the word “abortion” had nothing to do with immigration. They had nothing to do with libertarianism either. You see, according to some libertarians:

1. It is aggression and the initiation of force against a woman to prevent her from deciding what to do with her own body but neither if she kills her baby.

2. “If you make it, you own it. If you take a block of wood and spends months carving it into a pretty statue of a baby and, even if it would be valuable unless other have also invested their time or material, if you decide to toss it into the fire, that is your right because you made it. Therefore, if you make a baby and even if you give birth, for a day or two until other get involved, you have a right to kill it because you own it.” The same person also said that abortion was “righteous, moral, and desirable.”

3. “Men—who are wombless—should shut the f**k up-about abortion. Would you say no to surgery for so cancer? It’s the same thing.”

I don’t know what these opinions are, but I fail to see how they have anything to do with libertarianism.
