Kids and the Military

A bad mix all around. According to data the DOD provided to the Associated Press, the sexual abuse of the children of service members occurs hundreds of times every year. And who is doing the abusing? Primarily enlisted men. The victims are primarily young girls. And note this: “An AP investigation published in November found more inmates are in military prisons for child sex crimes than for any other offense.”
This is not just a few bad apples. I am so sick of Christians saying that joining the military will make a man out of you or teach you discipline. Joining the military may in fact make a murderer, torturer, drug addict, and sex abuser out of you. Shame on Christian pastors who mention the evils of society like abortion and homosexuality but never mention the many evils of the U.S. military.
