Inflation May Be Causing a Long-Term Rise in Unemployment

Many economists have long held that, in the long run, inflation doesn’t do much of anything. Far from being neutral, however, inflation leads to changes in political institutions, and these changes push up unemployment over time. Karl-Friedrich Israel explains.
