Subject: Comment to Your Article on Lewrockwell.com: Impeach Brett Kavanaugh

Hello Dr. Block:

I think it is only fair that I give you a brief background of myself.  I am strongly influenced by the writings of Murray Rothbard, Lysander Spooner, and Butler Shaffer (may he rest in peace).  I do read articles from mises.com and other liberty sources.

I want to let you know that I read most of the articles on lewrockwell.com daily.  I appreciate and admire your writings.  For these reasons, I wish to thank you for vocalizing the vital concepts of individual liberty.

That said, I must take issue with your notion to impeach Brett Kavanaugh.  You write the following:

With Mr. Brett Kavanaugh on the high court, these rights will be undermined.

Please understand that I don’t disagree with you regarding his views on privacy.  Based on your logic of impeaching him because he does not respect the Constitution (these rights will be undermined), why not impeach the entire Supreme Court since none of them respect the provisions of the Constitution and our rights will be undermined.  But wait, let’s not stop there! Why not impeach the President, his cabinet, and Congress since virtually none of them follow the Constitution and our rights will be undermined.

The point I am trying to make is that you are making arguments based on a man made document.  It is evident that this man made document, the Constitution of the USA, has failed to limit the scope/size of government and protect our liberties.  I know from reading your articles you understand this very well.  I strongly believe that we must stop defending liberty based off a deeply flawed document.  The Constitution has proven to be at best an abject failure or as Mr. Barnett describes in his article posted on Lewrockwell.com, “There Are No Such Things as Constitutional Rights” the following:

….a coup completed by Hamilton and his followers to create a strong central governing system, where most all power was given to a federal or national government instead of to the individual and the states.

Dr. Block, I kindly ask that you consider changing how the argument should be made for liberty.  We need to defend our individual rights as natural rights inherent from our humanity rather than claiming these rights are guaranteed from a piece of paper written by less than perfect men.  We must start preaching natural rights as the basis for our ability to own our bodies, to own property, to move about freely without interruption, etc.  We must start demanding the dissolution of the Federal Government, state governments, and even the too large local governments as they have all plunged into an irreversible corruption and criminality.

I eagerly await your response.

Sincerely,

Marc Karetny

Response 1

Dear Marc:

You make excellent points. But, the perfect (publishing essays on impeaching them all) is the enemy of the good (just impeach this one guy).

Suppose I gave you $10. Would you accept this money from me? Sure. Would you complain that I’m not giving you $100? Hardly. Why do so in this case then?

Best regards,

Walter

Dr. Block,

I read your article on LRC regarding Brett Kavanaugh. My only complaint is that you singled him out but not any other justices who likely support unconstitutional acts of Congress and the President, either through opinion or vote (such as Chief Justice Robert’s upholding Obama care)

Sincerely,

Patrick S. Russo

response 3

Dear Patrick:

Good point. If I had the energy, I’d write 8 more essays, advocating the impeachment of all the others.

Best regards,

Walter

I have no idea why with all the thousands of candidates Trump picked Kavanaugh, obviously opposed to the constitution and a philosophical dimwit. Trump’s advisors are dumber than a bag full of rocks. Had he used such idiots when a builder all of his buildings would’ve fallen down. He has turned two stodges, Dr. Fauci and Brix into overlords who have destroyed the nation.

BEST,

Pa

response 4

Dear Paul:

Good points

Best regards,

Walter
