Hold The Government, Please

I’ve gotten a lot of angry emails regarding my blog posts criticizing Trump. Fair enough. I’m not into being liked by everyone. Because if I am, it means I’m part of someone’s mainstream even when they don’t refer to themselves as one. But one question that keeps coming up is why I’m being so critical of Trump. That’s easy to answer: Because he’s the government! Hel-LO! The government? Remember them? The people forcing you to pay taxes to support a bloated military (that Trump wants to spend more money on), remember? The people forcing you to pay taxes for various “federal projects”? You know, like a big wall that people will just tunnel under like they do now? The people that create new federal agencies out of thin air that then need funding? You know, like the ones Trump is creating? Excuse me very much, but how exactly is this guy any different from any other government official? Because he’s got a big mouth? Big deal!

Here we go again with another federal health care shibai, and what’ll they call this one? Trumpcare? Probably. Better make sure if you like your plan, you keep it. Because there’s a 30% penalty the insurer collects from you per year if it lapses and you try to re-enroll. Oh, but it’s okay, it’s not like the government wrote that nifty proviso, right? Oh, but they did. Again, this is a different government HOW? How is this government different just because there’s this guy running it? Anyone remember he just asked for ONE TRILLION DOLLARS to spend? And the guy is only a little over a month into office! My gosh, if that was Democrats doing that, the Trump cheerleaders would have had a collective meltdown! But Trump does the SAME THINGS they normally criticize, and it’s like he just repealed the federal income tax instead of creating more things they’ll need that tax money to fund!

Trump’s draining the swamp, huh? Do tell. One trillion dollars to spend on projects we haven’t even seen the work orders for and he’s draining the swamp. Right. And I’ve got the Okefenokee for sale, too. What, exactly, do we need one trillion dollars for? The interstate highways? Anyone recall the feds have taxes to collect money for that already? The airports? Privatize the dang things. Those aren’t government-owned airlines operating out of them. Let’s see the purchase requisitions like a company needs to see before they write a purchase order and cut a check. What is this one trillion dollars for? Anyone know? Anyone got the shopping list? Come on, people should know, right? Oh, but let’s just hand over one trillion as if he’d do that with his own company and some shmoe in purchasing asked him to cut a check for a trillion. Come on.

So why do I think Trump cannot be trusted? Because, hel-LO!, he is the head of the federal government! Tell me how great this guy is when your taxes go up later down the road because the government finds all the Past Due notices shoved behind a desk drawer in the Oval Office after he’s gone. Then the government says, “Gee, we’ve got to pay down the debt because we can’t afford to keep the government running unless everyone tightens their belt…” That is EXACTLY what we’ve heard every time after one of these “I’m going to shrink the government” jokers gets in there and spends more money we haven’t got. So don’t hand me this nonsense this guy is any different. I learned a long time ago the government cannot be trusted. And everyone that gets in there promises a Morning In America, A Thousand Points Of Light, Ownership Society, Change You Can Believe In, and Make America Great Again. Hilarious. There are better slogans on boxes of kid’s breakfast cereal. Well, he’s your guy and your government. You’re welcome to them both.
