The Heritage Fundraising Blitz
May 6, 2016
I have been bombarded lately with fundraising e-mails from the Heritage Foundation, a D.C. conservative think tank, signed by former senator Jim DeMint, who is now Heritage’s president. They are all about an “ambitious new project to identify and unite the conservative base.” The project is the Conservative Census. It aims to “seek out and bring together those of us who believe in principles like free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, and traditional American values and a strong national defense.” The project “will reveal just how strong the conservative base is in America.” The catch is that Heritage needs $250,000 by Friday midnight to undertake the project. Right. Sure they do.
Do any of the conservatives at Heritage actually believe their mantra of “free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, and traditional American values and a strong national defense”? Of course not, as I have shown here, here, and here.
Folks, if you are going to donate to a “think tank,” I can’t recommend one more worthy than the Ludwig von Mises Institute.
