Falwell Endorses Trump
May 6, 2016
Jerry Jr. that is. Actually, he would support whomever the Republican nominee was. Ted Cruz announced in a speech at Falwell’s Liberty University that he was running for president. Falwell’s decision has resulted in one of his board members resigning. Turns out the guy was a senior advisor to Romney in 2008 and 2012 and most recently supported Rubio.
My question is simply this: Why do ministers and religious leaders feel the need to endorse candidates and get involved in politics? Politics is the dirtiest game in town. I would have more respect for these people if they held a blackjack tournament.
