“Four off-duty Minneapolis police officers working the Minnesota Lynx game at Target Center on Saturday night walked off the job after the players held a news conference denouncing racial profiling, then wore Black Lives Matter pregame warm-up jerseys.”
No wonder we didn’t hear about cops’ gunning down unarmed victims in Minneapolis over the weekend. And there’s hope they may never slaughter peaceful people at the Target Center: “Lt. Bob Kroll, president of the Minneapolis Police Federation, the union that represents rank-and-file officers, praised the officers for quitting Saturday. ‘I commend them for it,’ he said. … ‘If [the players] are going to keep their stance, all officers may refuse to work there.’”
Excellent! Why are cops policing our leisure, anyway? Why do these thugs now invade every venue of American life?
Those of us who despise badged bullies should take a lesson: maybe donning a “Black Lives Matter” jersey will keep them out of our events, too. But be prepared for some sour grapes: ol’ Kroll opined, “They only have four officers working the event because the Lynx have such a pathetic draw.”
Yo, Kroll: what’s your excuse for such a pathetic soul?
