“Even Though the Treatment Hasn’t Gone Through Definitive Trials “

April 27, 2020

“We don’t have to start designing new drugs . . . .  If I were a physician in a hospital and someone were dying, rather than do nothing, you can see if these work . . . . That’s particularly encouraging . . . these drugs, now used to treat hepatitis C, are widely available.”

–Anthony Fauci, interviewed in USA Today, April 18, 2013

Tony has changed his tune. Today he would presumably advise physicians to let their COVID-19 patients die rather than treat them with hydroxychloroquine and zinc or some other drugs that, while in use for decades for other illnesses, has not jumped through enough FDA/CDC bureaucratic hoops (aka “clinical trials”).  Or wait for Bill Gates to make another hundred billion or so with his new vaccines, available in another couple of years.  Ya gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet, someone famous (or, notorious) once said.
