Cheney’s ISIS View Bares the Predominant Motivation

September 10, 2014

What is the main motivation for Obama’s ISIS War? Dick Cheney also says it’s geopolitics or protection of such “allies” as Israel, Jordan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. In other words, the U.S. seeks to maintain hegemony in the region. From a Bloomberg report:

“Former Vice President Dick Cheney, who will offer a pre-buttal to Obama’s speech, met with House Republicans on today and, according to one House Republican leadership aide, argued in favor of intervening against IS to prevent the terrorist group from expanding across the region and threatening U.S. allies.”

If headlines make anti-terror or beheadings or brutality or protecting lives a focal point or main motivation, or if they raise irrational fears, that’s all superficial and misleading in understanding Obama’s ISIS War. Such headlines and commentary serve only to rouse a public that’s easily aroused, as the latest polls already show. It’s the power and expansionary potential, current and prospective, of ISIS that bothers Obama-Netanyahu and explains the Obama ISIS War, not the evil deeds of ISIS.
