Another Modern Day Parable

A Republican and a Democrat were walking together and came to a river. There sat Donald Trump, asking for someone to ferry him across the river because he couldn’t swim. The Democrat said, “No way! I have my integrity to concern myself with! And if the Republican here has any, he will remember his own integrity!” But the Republican agreed to ferry Trump across and left Trump there by the other side. But the Democrat keep on and on, badgering the Republican, saying, “Where was your integrity?! How could you carry Trump across the river like that?! Why would you carry him across like that?!” After ten miles of this, the Republican finally said, “You know what? I left Trump behind ten miles ago. If you’re so upset about him, why are you still carrying him?”
