Will We Become A Nation Of Sycophants When Government Hands Everybody A Check?

John Williams SHADOWSTATS.com commentary #1435

The Bureau of Labor Standards reports an error in its calculation of 7.5 million unemployed Americans, with a “corrected estimate” of 27.7% unemployment.  ShadowStats.com says the real numbers are 39.6% unemployed.  Notice that ShadowStats.com estimated 21.1% unemployment in February ’20 and has been reporting a similar number for a few years now.  The “unemployment problem” was hidden from view.  Now it can’t be hidden. Economist Martin Armstrong says it took two years for the unemployment rate to get to 25% in the Great Depression of the 1930s.  That was exceeded in one month in the COVID-19 crisis.

Overnight socialism

Led by give-away artist Kamala Harris, the Democrats now want everybody below $120,000 annual income to get $2000/month.  Doesn’t this make the US a socialist country?  Once dependent on this money, how do you ever wean laborers back to work?  (I can’t even imagine how government is going to collect income taxes out of that money.)

The problem is, how does a country go on supplying checks to the unemployed?  How do you cut this off without causing riots in the streets?  This is just electronic money being created into existence out of thin air.

Government gains more power when everyone becomes dependent on a government paycheck.  The Nazis burned books to prevent people from disagreeing with their philosophy.  Nobody reads books anymore; the internet and particularly YouTube have replaced books.  This is why the current online censorship of what is politically correct needs to be condemned.  The censors are now active in what the public learns about the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Economist Martin Armstrong says it is not TRUMP who is fascist, it is CNN and YouTube via suppression of free speech.  You can read Martin Armstrong’s analysis.  Fortunately, CNN plays the polarization game, pandering to anti-Trump sentiment.  CNN’s future is short.  Once Trump is out of office, its audience evaporates.

The sycophant class

The masses will predictably become sycophants (defined as a person who acts servile toward someone of wealth or power in order to retain favor; aka “yes-man,” bootlicker, brown-noser, flatterer) or by example, every Vice-President of the United States.

It was Richard Steele who once said: “When you commend, add your reasons for doing so; it is this which distinguishes the approbation of a man a sense from the flattery of sycophants and admiration of fools.”  In other words, the person being flattered needs to ask “Why do you say that?”  In that manner the sycophant is flushed out.   Will we become sycophants all?  Then our leaders can do no wrong.  Think Mussolini. The sycophant problem was captured in a political cartoon.  It’s not that there shouldn’t be chain of command.  It is not that the office of the President shouldn’t be respected.  It is that we create false idols when we see everything a leader does as good.  This was captured in the book The Cult Of The Presidency.

Oh, you may think I’m hinting at being a Trump cult member.  That is one problem, but our leaders are also sycophants to others who pay them off.   The billionaires can buy politicians.

Public now realizing we are being played for fools

Martin Armstrong says “the people are starting to wake up they are being played for fools.”  If anything would arouse the American public, the manufactured COVID-19 crisis would be it.

In 1994 Congress received more mail regarding opposition to the government’s effort to classify dietary supplements as drugs.  That issue crossed all political lines.  But how will 30-50 million Americans even think of opposing government when it is handing them a check?  And where do votes shift with this giveaway?

A servile population is likely to thank Kamala Harris for ushering in socialism without recognizing private enterprise and personal achievement would vanish.  Every employer in the US would have to pay more than $2000/month to lure the masses off of government checks.  The $2000/month check would only make unemployment permanent.

To have Kamala Harris change the fundamental private enterprise America to a government-dependent population is something Kamala Harris has no awareness of.  She is a nurturing female who promised free money to black audiences in her recent Presidential campaign.  She only thinks of infants who need to be fed with no regard for the insolvent predicament the country faces. The problem for Kamala Harris is that those on welfare already receive a government check.  Social Security recipients too.  Government workers (police, fire, teachers, etc.) receive government checks.  The only people who have a stake in the game with something to lose are the independent private enterprise business owners.  Two-thousand dollars a month is a giant pay cut for them.

A problem is that the poor ask, why do the financial classes get bailed out but main street gets pennies in comparison?  That sore point flushes out what America has become – – a fascist big-corporation, big banker run country.  The Federal Reserve, that has exclusive distributorship for money, offers 0% interest money to financial institutions now.  The financial classes can fail and just get government to bail them out – no risk, big gain.  So, the financial classes are just as much anti-American/ anti-competitive as the poor are willing to exchange freedom for security.

This American theatre is getting to be quite a drama.  Will its people see where America is headed and mount opposition to oligarch control?  A $90-billionaire is scheming in the background with Big Pharma to force a vaccine on the world and cull the population in the process.

Will the people allow him to get away with it?  Not if Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has anything to do with it.  Kennedy is calling on Americans to exercise moral courage.  Kennedy says: “Moral courage is the rarest species of bravery … rarer than the physical courage of soldiers in battle or great intelligence.”  He captures this in his recent book AMERICAN VALUES.  But as I said, the world doesn’t read books these days and YouTube is censoring Kennedy.

The forced vaccination issue is the proving ground for where the world and America is headed.  God help us all.
