This USA Today story, “Economy limiting services of local police,” is intended to stir up fear among the booboisie. Drudge featured it. The story also cheers libertarians, but read the thing. It only quotes lobbyists for more police spending, without one fact, nor one mention of a cut. And that is because there are no cuts. Cop departments are getting fatter, not skinnier. The story is just government propaganda. Newspaper journalism? Bye-bye.
