What’s Behind the Soaring Gold Price? Alasdair Macleod’s post asked Thursday. I am far more curious about the recent soaring of the silver price, following long stagnation @$23 or less. Gold has staked out a $2,300 floor, while silver’s more recent new floor appears to be $28. Percentage-wise, that significantly exceeds gold’s ascendancy. That said, silver’s industrial (i.e. extra-intrinsic) value exceeds that of gold’s. I have scheduled a call to my broker about this. I would also appreciate any and all opinions by LRC readers and contributors.
