The “Confirmation Hearing” of Tulsi Gabbard is proceeding predictably, and reflects the hopeless and terminal sickness of the American State. Almost to a senator, whether Democrat or Republican, are attacking Ms. Gabbard on one or more of the following talking points (in approximate order of emphasis):
Edward Snowden is a dangerous traitor!
FISA 702 is critical for national security!
The Russian Empire invaded Ukraine for no reason to all!
Assad gassed his own people, and you talked to him!
How dare you not believe any of these things!
They are terrified of her, and betray truth and human decency with nearly every word.
As Tulsi Gabbard wants to be DNI, she feels compelled to lie about every one of these subjects, each of which she has formerly spoken bravely in truth to power.
It is a perfect demonstration that the American State has entered its final phase of decay, and reform is impossible.
