The Menace of the State: Lew Rockwell

November 4, 2024

Writes Tim McGraw:

Hi Lew,   The Menace of the State: Lew Rockwell

Thanks for writing your great article on The Menace of the State. It is very well done. I did not know about the Tuath of ancient Ireland. Perhaps that explains the Libertarian streak in the Irish.

“Following Franz Oppenheimer and Albert Jay Nock, Rothbard identified the State as a predatory organism. It is the “organization of the political means.” The State produces nothing by itself but takes what other people have produced. From this, we can deduce a vital fact. Society must have existed before the State. Otherwise, there would be nothing for the State to take.” Lew Rockwell

Your paragraph above sums it all up. The State is a leech sucking the lifeblood out of us all (or worse.)

Thanks again.
