TEXIT update

Writes Roger Young:

Hi Lew,

Texas has made history by coming a bit closer to independence.

In the March primary, Texas Republican voters will be able to vote yes or no to the following question:

“Should the state of Texas reassert its status as an independent nation?”

You can read about it at these two links:

Apparently, Newsweek was the only state-controlled media that bothered to report the news.

This ballot referendum is a MAJOR step even if the vote is advisory. For the first time, TEXIT advocates get to have their voices officially heard, rather than resort to pointing toward polls that show overwhelming support. That support will force DC loyalists to take this issue seriously as TEXIT supporters continue to work for an official vote on independence.

This ballot referendum was earned by petition- 102,000 of them which more than satisfies the requirement.

The State Republican Executive Committee can’t overturn that petition process and get away with it. The referendum WILL be on the Republican March ballot. Plus, the state party already has TWO planks in their platform calling for such a vote!

Brion McClanahan ably analyzes the vote and rightly claims that a successful independence effort will not be achieved without first educating the public.

But what better way to “educate” than to publicize the overwhelming support for independence with this vote, thereby firing off debate, discussion and educating the masses?

The closer we get to March the more hysterical and goofy the DC loyalists on both the right and left will become.

And I’ll enjoy every minute of it.
