Taki: ‘Sign of the ‘Times’
January 18, 2024
Writes Stephen Mack:
Lew,
Taki: “Trump is not my cup of tea because he’s vulgar, but as president no one dared cross him.”
Recycle of a previous observation because I think that is important when discussing Trump from a libertarian perspective. Trump did not have to be crossed, because he was easily subverted or outright rolled. And that only happened because Trump was too lazy and too stupid to legally and effectively utilize the presidential power that he had.
Trump at 77 is WYSIWYG. The most insidious element of his presence is that as a fatally flawed and fatally failed change agent, Trump poisons the well for a genuine change agent with genuine intelligence, genuine wisdom and genuine integrity. America is careening towards an inexorable political, social and economic train wreck that will probably happen during the next presidential administration. Trump the feckless incompetent won’t be able to stop it. Maybe better to let Biden and the Dems own it, then attempt to find and front that genuine change agent as the collapse is happening.
Biden and his handlers are indeed hyper-malevolent. But journalists shouldn’t be pulling any punches on Trump because of the that.
The Best of Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr.
