Story on Las Vegas bomber Falls Apart

Lew,
Thank you for all the good work over the years. I am a longtime reader of lewrockwell.com.
I am writing to point out that the recent video https://www.lewrockwell.com/political-theatre/story-on-las-vegas-bomber-falls-apart/ doesn’t live up to the high standards I have come to expect from your excellent website. The claims that a Desert Eagle in 50AE will blow apart or vaporize a mans head are not well supported. The material characteristics of living flesh and watermelons or bottles of soda are quite different. I have a lifetime of hunting experience with rifles, shotguns and handguns in many different calibers. I have made headshots on numerous hogs with multiple calibers and have never seen a head vaporize. The wounds that I am accustomed to seeing are far more like the pathology photos shown here. https://www.pathologyoutlines.com/topic/forensicsgunshotwounds.html The photos of a rifle shot to the head are what I would consider typical. Yes, under some conditions a head can be blown to pieces, but not typically. Unfortunately the pathology photos don’t give us data on distance from the weapon or the ammunition used, but all common high power rifle cartridges greatly exceed the wounding capacity of the 50 AE. Bullet energy and velocity are directly correlated with the wounding capacity of a weapon. For comparison I have linked some ballistic data allowing you to compare the power of various rifle cartridges from major manufacturers. As you can see from the data the 50 AE is significantly less powerful than even intermediate rifle calibers.

The Las Vegas video makes unsubstantiated claims extrapolating from the terminal ballistic effects of bullet impacts materials which are quite unlike the human head.
Alternate explanations to the appearance of a living man seated in the vehicle, in no particular order, include. I am sure there are also other reasonable possibilities that I have not considered.
– Perhaps the gunshot and explosion were simultaneous
– Perhaps a dead body with gunshot to the head was secured in a lifelike position in the vehicle which was delivered using Tesla’s self-driving capabilities.
– Perhaps the low resolution security camera footage simply failed to capture the gunshot’s muzzle flash. Brain shots produce variable results, and can result in momentarily freezing in place, simply slumping over, or erratic uncontrolled spastic movement. I have observed all of these results in game
