RFK Jr. and regulatory capture
May 3, 2023
Writes Greg Privette:
Hi Lew,
I saw the posts today about RFK Jr’s background. I like his stance on the regulatory agencies, but I would like to see him brought around to the reality of their beginnings. From what I have heard in interviews, he still has the common view that those agencies were once noble, but were gradually captured over time by the industries they regulate. My understanding is most, if not all, of these agencies were created at the behest of the major players in the industries involved and were captured from the beginning. I think it is important to recognize the difference between being captured over time, and just becoming ever more corrupt over time.
Thanks!
