Here’s the story, made more prominent by the NY Times attacking Cruz’a book. Rand snd Mitch are upset, too, by the chapter called Mendacity.

Rand absolutely asked questions to try to undermine the Obamacare filibuster. I watched it in person.
BTW, there is a rumor that Mendacity Mitch asked the NYT to cool it on the Cruz bestseller that criticizes him. No information as to what the quid might have been for that quo.
