Rand Superpac Raises $3.1 Million

National Journal: “Rand Paul’s Super PAC raises just $3.1 million—smallest total for any 2016 GOP candidate yet.” But “America’s Liberty PAC does count two seven-figure donors: George Macricostas, the chairman and CEO of a RagingWire, a data center company, and Jeff Yass, the owner of Susquehanna Partners.
“Yass, who sits on the board of directors of the libertarian-leaning Cato Institute, gave the group $1 million on June 19. Macricostas cut three checks totaling $1.1 million, including one for $750,000 on June 30, the final day of the filing period.
“America’s Liberty PAC is led one of Paul’s former advisers, Jesse Benton, who served as Paul’s campaign manager in his 2010 Senate campaign and is married to Paul’s niece.”
