Oliver Stone

Charles Goyette:

Lew:

Thanks for posting the video of Oliver Stone on the CBS Morning News promoting his new documentary, The Putin Interviews.

When the conversation turned to Russian electoral interference, Norah O’Donnell adopted a rather strident tone, as if to school Stone.  “Just to clarify, it is the consensus of all US intelligence agencies that they attempted to meddle in the election,” said O’Donnell.
Not so, Norah.  Actually it’s only the consensus of a few cherry-picked analysts.  O’Donnell’s comments, like those of Megyn Kelly and so many others, are more examples of the national news media doing the work of the politically corrupted US intelligence complex.

Here’s veteran CIA analyst Ray McGovern:  “Director of National Intelligence James Clapper conceded publicly that the number of intelligence agencies involved in the assessment was three, not 17, and that the analysts assigned to the project from CIA, FBI and NSA had been ‘handpicked’. …  former CIA Director John Brennan confirmed Clapper’s account about the three agencies involved. ‘It wasn’t a full interagency community assessment that was coordinated among the 17 agencies,’ Brennan acknowledged.”

More from McGovern on the subject here.

It’s a full-time job keeping up on the media echo chamber.
