I suppose we should go back to the good ole’ days when Peggy Noonan wrote George HW Bush’s “Read my lips” speech.  True, he was lying when he promised no new taxes, but he had such grace and stature when he made the speech.

How can one read such “sincerity” and not be dumb struck at how narcissistically and pathologically uncomprehending the DC apparatchik “culture” really is. Though it is frought with risks, I am vigorously optimistic that 2016 will be looked back upon as the year that everything changed.
