A friend of mine wrote this. I have never heard of this university scam before. I wonder how widespread this is.

“My daughter is a freshman right now and the latest trick is that you have to have a unique code that’s included in the textbook.  Once that code is used or book is sold back, the book is basically useless.  The guides, testing, etc. are tied to the codes.”
