Baltimore Bridge Collision

March 28, 2024

Writes Tim McGraw:

The NTSB is pretty good until the FBI shows up and kicks the NTSB off the case. This happened with the TWA flight that was blown up after leaving JFK decades ago. The NTSB has been kicked off of other cases by the FBI as well.

The Dali’s captain was Ukrainian. The company that owns the Dali has fecked up before. It is focused on DEI hiring and not training or competency. The smoke belching from the smoke stack could be caused by putting the engines into an emergency reverse. When you do that, the ship loses steering control. The collision alarm air horn was never activated on the Dali.

The odds of the Dali hitting the bridge pylon in just the right place are low.

The correct procedure for Dali’s captain in a loss-of-power situation in a harbor channel is to cut the engines and drop the anchors. This slows the ship slowly as the anchors drag on the harbor bottom. Also, steering control is maintained even with the engines off.

The collision is either incompetence and bad luck or enemy action.
