Kirk Porter makes a good point on today’s nation/state of Israel not being Godly as it relates to the descendants of Abraham. I would also add two more Biblical references to that same point.
First, 1 Samuel 8. In it God explicitly states that putting faith in nation/states is a rejection of Him. God doesn’t need humanity’s help to achieve His goals. To think that without human contrived efforts God will fail is the height of hubris and arrogance.
Second, the Book of Zechariah. In chapter 11 God plainly breaks his covenant with the recalcitrant Jews. He ends his protection and casts them to the wind.
In addition to those two there are the events leading to the Crucifixion. Recall when the Jewish leaders brought Jesus before Pilate. Pilate stated he could find no fault with Christ and “washed his hands” of His blood. The Jews, who had been chanting “Give us Barabbas!”, then stated, “Let his blood be on us and our children”, Matthew 27:25. To quote Dr. Phil, “How’s that workin’ for ya’?”
The worship of Nation/States must end.
