Yo, Libertarians: Quit With “The Lockdowns Don’t Work”

January 7, 2021

>SIGH<

I’ve just read yet another article at a well-meaning “libertarian” website moaning that lockdowns “don’t work.” Our fellow-travellers therefore advise that since states with the most stringent stay-at-home orders also boast the highest incidence of infection, politicians should try other “solutions.” Plus, lockdowns’ unintended consequences have proven harmful.

Oh, please: we should never allow Leviathan to meddle with our health—or lack thereof—in the first place. And who says those adverse consequences are unintended?

Why do libertarians, who supposedly understand the dangers of the State, assume that despots are hoping to curb disease rather than us

The lockdowns are “working” just fine, thank you.
